그러나, 현대의 전통시장에 변화의 바람이 불기 시작했다.

신정평화시장과 울산번개시장에서 전통시장 이색축제가 열린다.
신정평화시장은 5월 4일(토) 시장 앞 광장에서
‘오늘은 모두가 어린이, 청년마켓에서 꿈을 싸요!’를 주제로
축제가 펼쳐진다.

플리마켓과 버스킹 공연, 어린이 간식 증정행사, 체험행사 등이 마련돼
변화된 시장의 모습이 펼쳐질 것이다.
울산번개시장은 5월 31일(금) 시장 내 팔각정 특설무대에서
‘아시안 사랑축제’가 펼쳐진다.
특히, 고객과 함께하기 위한 행사로 방문객들에게 점심 식사가 제공된다.
점심시간에 맞춰 장을 보러 간다면 맛난 점심을 덤으로 즐길 수 있다.
이와 함께, 게릴라 콘서트를 방불케 하는
버스킹과 밴드 공연으로 방문객들의 눈과 귀를 사로잡을 것이다.
또한, 우리동네 단골시장 이벤트로
카카오톡 채널을 추가하면
장바구니와 각티슈 등 선물을 덤으로 가져 갈 수 있다.
